Every creature, painted

From giant sauropods to feathered hunters

Each creature has its own painting, its size next to yours, where its fossils were found on a map of the ancient Earth, and a story to play, read aloud. All of it is in the app, so it works on a plane or in a tent.

  • Fun facts, checked against museums and papers
  • Maps of the continents as they were in each age
  • Size compare, timelines and famous fossils

Hatch a mystery egg

Who's inside? Look for clues

Every few hours your egg gives a clue about who's inside. Guess who's inside, watch it crack open, and give your hatchling a name. Rarer eggs take longer, and twins can surprise you.

  • Eggs painted for every kind of dinosaur and pterosaur
  • Volcanic ash, earned by learning, warms an egg so it hatches sooner
  • Badges bring reward eggs

Collect cards

A card for every creature, and rare full-art ones

Read about a creature to get its card, win it in a quiz, then hatch it for a glowing one. Cards come in six art styles, from crayon to pixel art, with stickers to decorate them. Full-art cards are the rarest of all: their paintings fill the whole card.

Meet Tiko

Ask Tiko the Troodon anything

Tiko knows every creature in the app. Ask a question, or chat with a dinosaur itself: it answers in its own voice, from what scientists know (and what they still argue about). The chat runs on Apple's on-device model, so nothing you type leaves your iPhone.

Did T. rex have feathers?
Maybe a few when it was small! The big adults had scaly skin on most of their body, from the fossil skin we've found. Want to see who did have feathers?
